What is our mission?

There has been a growing awareness of the environmental impact of landfill; the need for reducing energy use; the importance of conservation; and minimising the production of waste. With the inexorable rise in landfill taxes, there is an imperative to reduce the volume of waste flowing from demolition sites and refurbishment projects. It is here that the pivotal importance of architectural salvage is made plain.

Reclamation of building materials and features has many benefits beside the reduction of waste. It is much more energy-efficient to re-use salvaged bricks than manufacture new ones, with the attendant energy and clay-extraction costs. Similarly, salvage of flooring, doors, panelling, roof timbers and the like, helps to reduce the demand for timber, especially scarce tropical hardwoods. Added to these benefits is the aesthetic attraction of salvaged materials, which help to enhance the built environment, and to blend in new building with the old.

Environmental Value.

There are often time pressures exerted which limit the opportunity to salvage materials. However, local authorities are increasingly recognising the environmental value of reclamation, and are taking this into account when approving projects.

We can offer a certificate of recycling and details of salvaged materials - all of which would be beneficial to contractors.

It is preferable to involve us at the earliest opportunity, so that the maximum amount of salvage can be removed.

We have the expertise and familiarity with procedures, plus the necessary certification, as well as being able to supply an extensive list of prestigious buildings from which we have salvaged materials and features in the past. In addition, we have been employed to remove and safeguard important features from listed buildings.

Early planning helps to ensure a smooth and problem-free process. Since we are willing to pay for salvage, it also provides financial benefit to the project.

We look forward to working with you.
